Wow a month already!!!! Today is September 23rd!

The last month has been a barrel of tears, laughs, aggravation, happiness, and more tears! We jumped head first into our new challenge this year, our homeschooling!! When we first started last month it seemed like everyday was a struggle to get through and we had arguments and lots of tears. I take the blame for most of them I was so worried about trying to do everything perfectly and keep to an exact schedule that I drove us to our wits end! I was so wrapped up in making sure that I was giving them the best I could when it came to their schooling that I made it absolutely no fun for them and actually made it harder for them to learn. I was trying so hard and they were too (trying to make me happy) but it all ended in many upset and tearful nights. I knew that homeschooling is the way that God intended it to be and that I was doing the right thing, so why was it so hard and why was it not working right. I turned to prayer and advice from my sister, Shirley, and other homeschooling mothers.

I have learned so much this last month that you would think that I was the one getting home schooled!! I learned to BREATH! take it easy that homeschooling is supposed to be a bonding experience with my kids and we should enjoy each other. So we took a couple days off and enjoyed time together. Then over the next couple of weeks we moved the schedule around and around until we found a schedule that is finally working for us. We now enjoy our days and don't fret it we don't get everything done. We also use the best thing about homeschooling FLEXIBILITY ! If something comes up and we need to flip stuff around we do it, but most of all we try to have fun and enjoy what we are learning.

Our circulum has it's ups and downs. The girls enjoy their Rod and Staff - Penmanship and Spelling. They are really cute little books. We also enjoy our Mystery of History! It is packed full of small lessons that have so much info in them and are fun for the kids and not to long. They also have an activity that they enjoy at the end of each lesson. Our Botany on the other hand, has long drawn out lessons that makes it hard for the kids to listen for that long but they really enjoy the activities on it though! and are learning alot about plants that they did not know. I am really surprised how much they are picking up with it. I took some pictures over the last month of some of our activities that I want to share with you . . . .

First Day of our Homeschooling and the poor girls had to ride the school bus LOL . . .

Then we went home to get started on school!

We made our robot helpers that have a basic outline of what we should do everyday of the week. . .subject to change . .

The next day we had art class and Purity picked out a scissor collage I think it turned out really cute . . .

In our Mystery of History Class we learned about Adam and Eve and how it must of been difficult for Adam to name all the animals. . .so we made home made play doh and the girls made their own animals and named them . .

This is Sissy's and she called it a Pop' al.

Purity and her new animal and it is called a corta' sqwig. ( and that is how she wanted it spelled too LOL)

Then we built a light hut and planted some basil and wild flowers (that are now started to bud some!) in our Botany class.

Later on in our Botany we learned about plants and the fragrance oils that can be made out of them and we made home made soaps and they are sooo cute (I think we are going to give them away for Christmas presents!)

Well then the girls were worried about not having a picture day at school so we had one at home and here are some of them . .

The next two I had to add because I love them but I could not flip them for some reason sorry about that . .

Well that was only the highlights of the month hopefully now I will blog more and keep you updated on our daily adventures in life . . . . .

Like this morning when we was on the bus we were driving up on the 229 HWY bridge and it was really foggy out. (It looked like we were driving through a cloud) and Purity said,"Mommy it looks like we drove to heaven, right up in the clouds." I told her that, that would be a great way to go to know that we all were together and going to the promised land! I remember feeling so peaceful thinking about if that was true I would not have to worry weather my kids knew God or not because they were going with me so everything would be great . . . .Then I felt selfish and upset, I was driving a school bus and only taking us three to heaven, I wished that I had packed it full of people!! Then I came back out of my cloud of thoughts. . . LOL . . .just something to think about . . . .so how about you what is your thoughts??
